VEX IQ is a prerequisite to VEX robotics classes at Hyde Park Middle School. In this program, students begin to use minimal metal pieces, such as axles to connect the wheels to the motors. VEX IQ allows students to learn the basics of the hardware used in VEX. VEX robots use all metal pieces for building. VEX IQ students are still permitted to use plastic for other parts of the robot. Our advisor and event coordinator, Mr. Edward Patricks, organizes challenge dates to compete against teams in our school practicing and rehearsing the events that will occur during the competition.
